ça va de soi - cavadesoi - clothing - montreal

Genuine values survive generations and resist passing trends, through timeless designs that match the spirit of today.

ça va de soi : The aesthetics of elegant classics. ça va de soi : A new dimension, a different approach.
ça va de soi : It all starts with the yarn. It must be beautiful, supple, durable and natural—because only nature responds so well to the body’s needs.
ça va de soi :
Next comes function, because function dictates form.
ça va de soi : And then there’s quality. Superior quality implies sensuality, authenticity, exclusivity and longevity. Quality requires time and know-how: taking the time to choose, to go beyond, to stand out and to express oneself through discreet touches—a finer knit, delicate openwork, perfect puckering, or an unusual detail—and through the subtle perfection of a hand finish. ça va de soi : But before the material, function, form or quality; before anything else, there’s love.

*The name ça va de soi : This French phrase means “it goes without saying.” Or “Naturally”

Our code of ethics

Taking important issues seriously

ça va de soi deplores extreme consumerism and takes its commitment to the planet to heart. Here and abroad, our family-run, Quebec-based business follows principles of salary equity and enforces good working conditions. We regularly visit our small-scale workshops in Asia. We ensure that the workplace respects human beings, the law and the environment.

With regard to the environment, our almost entirely natural fabrics are subject to stringent regulations and frequent inspections. In manufacturing our knits, we forego the use of products in any concentration that might harm the environment, workers’ and/or consumers’ health. In more concrete terms, our production methods include enlightened choices for dyes, optimized colour baths, chlorine-free bleaching, and finishing techniques that require no pesticides or heavy metals.

Moreover, to facilitate and thus accelerate the handling of our imports, ça va de soi belongs to the Customs Self-Assessment Program (CSA).
